Temperature conversions are used in general engineering as well as engine monitoring, fuel combustion, curing processes, refining, soldering, meteorology and more.
The SI unit for temperature is Kelvin (K), although this unit is not commonly used outside of scientific calculations and is an absolute value rather than a 'degree'. The units Celsius (C) and Fahrenheit (F) are more commonly used for domestic applications such as cooking, cleaning, sterilization, weather conditions, body temperature monitoring and other uses.
